Lentisk

Lentisk, Pistacia lentiscus, is an evergreen and high-resilient plant spread throughout the Mediterranean area and particularly at its center: the Island of Sardinia. Fruits and leaves have been harvested for thousands of years thanks to their strong health benefits and nutrition facts. Lentisk is rich in Vitamin E, Omega 6 and Omega 9.

The oil is known to have antioxidant, antiseptic and lenitive properties, making it a novel and multifunctional ingredient for pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations. Its rich, green foliage plays host to clusters of small flowers in the springtime.

In late summer, the flowers turn to bright red berries, which darken to a deep blackish purple as they ripen. Lentisk can be found throughout the Island of Sardinia, from the sparkling coastline to the forested mountains.
